Artist Statement
Caught in the excesses of wealth, overwhelmed to the point of suffocation, the unsettling realization begins to emerge that perhaps there is no escape. The endless options for indulgence only seem to deepen our sense of unease. Medications, escapism, virtual and augmented experiences, sensory overload—each attempt at relief feeds into a cycle of anxiety. We become trapped by our own attempts at solutions, caught in a loop that never leads anywhere meaningful.
As accountability becomes increasingly meaningless, detached from any true sense of responsibility, these works stand as a reflection of Morph—a figure born from their own detached self-awareness, created in isolation and lethargy.
Nothing feels truly beautiful. Everything seems shallow, a façade painted to distract. Whether this is an autobiography or not, whether it’s an out-of-body experience doesn’t matter much. Installation, video, sculpture, performance—all of it is present but ultimately unfulfilling, all equally incomplete.
If Morph/Coady are driven by anything, it is the search for an uncompromising low point. Only “low art” can take us there. Everything else is just empty decoration, masking the truth with polished language.
